what it does not change

• what we recommend. we only point to things we'd actually use or have tested. a commission never buys a placement or a kinder verdict. if something is weak, slow, or overpriced, that's what the post says.
• the price you pay. commissions come from the seller's margin, not a surcharge on you. sometimes our link carries a reader discount; never a markup.

if the honest answer is "skip this one", that's the answer you get. built, not performed.
